Magazine Linux Format, supported by Intel, PingWin Software, IBM and GNU / Linukstsentr summed up the second annual competition "Best free project of Russia" launched in September.
in the contest was attended by over 80 free projects, developers from Russia and CIS countries. Projects-winners in 2009 (Cuneiform, nginx, madwimax, Midnight Commander, OTPD, sK1) at this time not participated in the competition.
Winners of "Best free project of Russia - 2010" has selected an expert jury. In the category "Individual project "they were:
GoldenDict - Electronic Dictionary, positioned as a free alternative, Lingvo, Babylon, and similar applications.
Bombono DVD - software for DVD-authoring.

Meanwhile, the deadline for a new special category of the competition for students and independent developers - "Autumn Marathon" - extended until February 1, 2011. Participants in this nomination contest is proposed to solve one of the tasks to improve the existing free Software made by the contest organizers.
